Police have released CCTV of a woman

Police have released CCTV of a woman they would like to speak to in connection with a theft from a shop in Cheltenham.

Between 2.30pm and 2.45pm on Monday November 28, last year, a red coat, valued at around £150, was stolen from a store on the Promenade.

Officers have so far been unable to identify the woman in the CCTV and are appealing for the public's help.

Cheltenham Man Sentenced

A Cheltenham man has been sentenced at Gloucester Crown Court today for three burglaries in the town.

37-year-old Marcus Fry of River Leys, was charged with the burglaries that happened in the town in 2011, one in Royal Parade in May, one in Evesham Road in September and one in St Georges Road in April.

Fry pleaded guilty to three of the burglaries and was sentenced yesterday to a total of nine years.



Chinese Takeaway Raided

Three illegal workers from China remain in immigration detention following a UK Border Agency raid on a Cheltenham takeaway.

Officers raided the takeaway and checked the immigration status of workers.

A 47-year-old man was found to be a failed asylum seeker, a 42-year-old woman had entered the UK illegally and a 39-year-old woman had stayed in the UK illegally after her visa expired.

All three were arrested and have since been transferred to immigration detention.

The 47-year-old man is due to be removed from the country over the coming weeks while the other two illegal workers have outstanding immigration claims. If they are found to have no right to remain in the UK, they will also be removed.

Gourmet San now faces a fine of up to £30,000 if they cannot prove they followed correct immigration proceedures.



Till Snatch

Officers investigating a till snatch at a garage in the Mitton area of Tewkesbury have released a CCTV image of the man thought to be responsible.

The incident took place at around 8:00 on Sunday night. A man went into the garage, which is on Bredon Road, to buy some cigarette papers.

He reached over the counter and snatched some notes from the till, before running off into Carrant Road and making off in a dark coloured Peugeot.

The man is described as being white, around six foot tall, of slim build and aged between 30 and 39. He was wearing a black thigh length jacket and dark trousers.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or who knows the identity of the man in the CCTV image is asked to contact police on 101.



Fourth Bag Snatched

There are additional patrols and a police investigation after a fourth bag was snatched in the Up Hatherley area.

The latest incident happened at around 5.50pm on Saturday.

A 90-year-old woman was walking along the alleyway between Caernarvon Road and Greatfield Lane with her son when they were approached by a teenager who grabbed the woman's handbag.

He ran towards Caernarvon Road, got onto a bicycle and cycled away towards Alma Road. He's described as white, around 5ft 7" and of slim build. He was wearing a dark hooded top and dark coloured trousers.

Investigating officers are linking the incident to three others in the area over recent weeks. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101.
